When I was a teenager I watched a TV program on the Alcan Highway. Since that time I have had a desire to travel that road to Alaska and enjoy the sights. Last year my wife and I purchased our first Class C motor home. It is a 31 foot Tioga Ranger. This will be the vehicle in which we will complete our trip of a lifetime.
Wednesday saw rain showers most of the day making the trip from the Arctic Circle especially tough for driving. These roads are extremely bad in places especially for a motor home.
Traveling with my wife Deatra and myself will be our traveling dog Orion. He is a 8 year old Chocolate Lab/Newfoundland mix.
I am not a computer whiz so I will be learning about blogging and posting pictures as I go.
I will try and post as often as I can and try to put into words what we are seeing and what is going on around us. I will also try and include things that would be helpful to anyone wishing to make the same trip. For the past year I have been reading all the blogs I could find to see what others had to say about their trip. This was very helpful to me so I hope I can help another first time Alaskan Explorer.
