Field of Dreams Sunday II

Finally we arrived at Dyersville, Iowa. Iowa does have a lot of corn fields by the way. Dyersville is a small town with the National Farm Toy Museum. We drove a few miles out of town through farms and fields of corn and there it was, The Field of Dreams. Only a few people were there. One group taking turns hitting balls and some taking pictures. The field and grass were absolutely beautiful. The corn was only about 12 to 18 inches high. The only thing that would have been better is for the corn to be taller.
We started to wait to come here on the way back when it would have been taller but we were afraid it would close by then since it is for sale. The house and barns were like the movie and make a beautiful sight. Deatra and I sat on the top bleacher and had some random lady take our picture. I walked all the way around the outfield looking for Shoeless Joe but he wasn't coming out until the corn gets higher. You know how those ball players are. It was a great experience. Deatra was disappointed because Kevin Costner didn't show. I promise to get busy and post pictures of this soon.
We drove a little farther and stopped at Independence, Iowa for the night. We need to dump grey water and take on fresh water so we stopped at a small campground for the night. We got water, electricity, cable TV, and sewer for $14. We grilled pork chops and relaxed some. I phoned Mike and talked some. He had started me a Twitter account and I needed to finish getting it set up. I had issues with the phone and internet and will have to finish that later. Mileage for today 342 miles. We are going to have to get moving if we are going to make it into Alaska.
