Our D day Time to go!

Friday was again busy packing clothes and gathering up stuff. Packing and organizing the camper for a trip of this magnitude is a real chore. Mike and Lisa came over to help. Mike helped tune the CB antenna. I was amazed that 1/8 inch could make such a big difference in signal. Packing more junk into the Tioga. Time is slipping away fast. Deatra came home about 9:45 and finished her preparation. She was way ahead of me. It don't look like I am going to have time to weigh the camper. May I don't want to know the weight as I might worry about it. Camper mileage 8561.
Finally we went to Nick's for lunch with Mike and Lisa. We pulled out of the parking lot at 1:14 and headed to Lynch Oil to get propane. 7.9 gallons for $20., not bad. Off we go waiting to get gas until we are in Winston Salem. We filled up at Sam's club, where I buy two tanks a week, at 3:45. How weird is that?
After over a year of reading, months of preparation, and weeks of intense getting packed it all seems surreal as we are finally on the road.
We drove 284 miles and stopped at a Cracker Barrel in Charleston, West Virginia. No phone or internet.
